The B1 Shovel:

The B-1 shovel is the lightest and most compact shovel of the Bomber series. Compatible with the 180cm B-1 Probe that is storable inside the shaft, the B-1 shovel provides a lightweight option to serve all your backcountry skiiing and snowboarding needs.
The 6061 aluminum BCA Bomber shovels feature an oval shaft with a more packable, bombproof, "ferrule-less" blade, ergonomic grip, and T6 heat treatment. The 2012/2013 Bomber Shovels now feature an end cap on the shaft, which prevents snow from building up along the inside. The Bomber line boasts an off-the-chart strength to weight ratio, while taking up minimal storage space in your pack. Remember, the excavation process in an avalanche rescue is where the most time can be lost or gained.

Storable inside the B-1 shovel shaft, the 180 cm B-1 probe is a great lightweight alternative for those weight conscious backcountry excursions. Unlike the Stealth probes, the B-1 probe has a screw top tensioning system with a pull cable to lock the poles into place.
